The Guiyang-Gui'an International Internet Data Dedicated Channel is one of the flagship projects under Guizhou Province’s “Six Networks Battle” special internet initiative. Accelerating the completion of this channel is a key task for Guizhou’s big data development this year. Since receiving approval from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology in August 2019, Guizhou has worked diligently over the past 10 months—overcoming challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic and tightening global high-tech industry supply chains—to push ahead with construction. As of June 30 of this year, the entire project has been successfully completed. The Guiyang-Gui'an International Internet Data Dedicated Channel primarily serves the Guiyang Comprehensive Bonded Area, among other key areas.
The Guiyang-Gui'an International Internet Data Dedicated Channel is one of the flagship projects under Guizhou Province’s “Six Networks Battle” special internet initiative. Accelerating the completion of this channel is a key priority for Guizhou’s big data development this year. Since receiving approval from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology in August 2019, Guizhou has worked diligently over the past 10 months to push forward construction—overcoming challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic and tightening global high-tech industry supply chains. As a result, all project work was successfully completed by June 30 of this year.
The Guiyang-Gui'an International Internet Dedicated Data Channel primarily serves four key open-platform zones: the Guiyang Comprehensive Bonded Area, the Guiyang National High-Tech Industrial Development Zone, the Guiyang Economic and Technological Development Zone, and the Gui'an Comprehensive Bonded Area. Targeting the digital economy, the internet industry, and cross-border data collaboration, the channel focuses on manufacturing, trade, and other industrial and commercial enterprises—as well as market players within these regions—by delivering premium-quality international internet access services. This initiative significantly enhances international network performance, dramatically improving businesses' experience when accessing global networks, and continuously optimizing Guizhou Province's international business environment. Leveraging this dedicated channel, Guizhou now boasts a direct 240Gbps bandwidth connection to international entry and exit points, enabling near-perfect connectivity. As a result, packet loss rates for international network access—particularly toward Europe, Africa, North America, Latin America, Central Asia, and South Asia—can be reduced to below 1%, matching the levels seen in advanced economies like the U.S. and Germany. Additionally, average network latency has been cut by more than 10%, placing Guizhou’s connectivity performance on par with that of neighboring developed regions such as Japan, South Korea, and Hong Kong.
The completion of the Guiyang-Gui'an International Internet Data Dedicated Channel marks another critical infrastructure milestone for Guizhou Province, following the establishment of its national-level backbone direct connection point, K-root server mirror node, and top-level domain node—key information infrastructure projects. This breakthrough enables Guizhou to establish a direct, high-speed international internet link, significantly enhancing the international communication capabilities and openness of related industrial parks. It also strengthens the telecommunications sector's ability to support export-oriented enterprises, particularly small and medium-sized businesses as well as private companies. Ultimately, this development is of great significance in further solidifying Guizhou’s position as a vital node within the global internet ecosystem and accelerating the province’s growth in the big data sector.
